Our Mission & Vision: To help people find their way to Christ!!
Our Core Values:
C—Celebrative Worship. We don’t engage in worship style wars or mud-slinging. It’s not about one style of worship being right and another wrong! Life is way too short for that stuff. So, we offer a variety of worship styles that focus our attention vertically and allow us to celebrate our God….whether the music is from a band or a pipe organ. Worship is not about us, it is about God!
H—Humble Service. We believe that God desires each of us to serve in some capacity within the church. Some of these opportunities are more up front or “spotlight” ministries, while many are in the background and not easily spotted. In either case, we are attempting to cultivate an attitude of humility. Check your ego at the door and don’t worry about your resume. Come humbly and with a positive delight in helping out and watch God bless your efforts.
R—Relevant Biblical Teaching. No apologies or hesitation here. At FCC we believe that the Christian Scriptures—the Bible—is the centerpiece of our teaching. Substitute anything else and we have stepped away from where we need to be. We don’t offer “Bible-lite” or pretend to be Dr. Phil around here. If you are looking to be entertained for 20 minutes and then leave unchallenged, FCC is probably not your next stop. But, if you desire to understand the Bible and have it connect to the way you live—we are here to deliver that. We start in our children’s ministries and have that way of thinking trickle up through every generation. We believe the Word of God has been too long neglected, so our commitment is to move it to the front of the line.
I—Intentional Outreach. This is a definite growth point here at FCC. We’ve been a little scattered when it comes to outreach, maybe even a little apathetic. Don’t get me wrong, we have been doing some good things, but we need to ramp this value up. It’s a work in progress as we attempt to focus our approach and targets. “Less is more” will be our approach. In other words, let’s identify significant opportunities (but probably less in number) and then go after them in a big way – starting locally and ending globally.
S—Significant Relationships. The most significant relationship we can identify is our relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. Obviously that relationship is a centerpiece of FCC. But out of that vertical relationship, we are convinced that people are also looking for horizontal relationships of friendship that go deeper than “Hi, how are you?” We are passionate about doing life deeply with one another, across the generations. Being part of a church means more than just having a casual connection to people. The Christian Scriptures are filled with exhortations to connect with one another in meaningful ways. We will try to assist you in establishing connections and meaningful relationships to the point of becoming family.
T—Transformed Living. In addition to offering every person the gift of forgiveness and eternal life, Jesus also talked about abundant living while he was here on earth. This type of living has nothing to do with economic tax brackets, but it has everything to do with quality and fulfillment. The Christian Scriptures remind us that in this journey we are to become more like Christ. That’s not a remodeling job, it’s a transformation from the inside out. At FCC, we are excited to talk about a different kind of life the Christian can live with God’s help. If you are tired of plain vanilla Christianity, then welcome to the transformation zone at FCC.
