First Congregational Church Summer Camp is all about serving Jesus! We teach kids who Jesus is, how to develop a personal relationship with Him, how to serve others and how to have fun in the process. 60+ volunteers make this week a truly life-changing experience. Teen counselors not only assist in the camper’s experience, but also receive training and daily devotionals. This offers all campers strong mentors, role models and older friends that are living a Christ-centered life and can offer hope and a loving hand throughout the week.

Preschool Summer Camp is new this year! We will trial this program this summer. Preschoolers will start camp off at the same time as older campers and have collective worship and assembly then they will spend the morning at the dorms having a camp story, lesson, craft, games and snack. They will be their own little camp and will go home at 12:00 pm. Just like with the older kids, parents and grandparents are expected to sign up to help out with some aspect of camp…set up, teaching, crafts, games, snack, etc. There will be a place for adult volunteer sign up online when registration begins.

This year 5th graders that are willing and interested may act as Jr. Counselors during the mornings, and will participate in the afternoon as a camper, with an option to remain a full-time camper. Jr. Counselors will attend a training in advance and daily devotionals each morning of camp just as older counselors do.

Counselor applications will be available in May.

  • Each morning, the campers have a theme, scripture verse and lesson. The afternoons are spent in God’s great outdoors swimming, playing games, crafts and so much more!
  • A mid-week family meal and talent show are truly highlights for every camper!
  • The mission focus is the Women’s Resource Center Shelter. Kids raise funds through the camp store and much more all through the week. We sponsor any child at the Shelter or Transitional housing that wishes to come to camp.
  • Camp is held at Grand Traverse County’s Twins Lake Camp on Long Lake Road.
